Title: [Oscar-devel] Mandriva 2006 x86_64
Hi Chris:

OSCAR has supported x86_64 since 4.2 - however, we do not provide x86_64 targets for all Linux distributions we support.  For 5.0, we plan to support Fedora Core 4, 5, RHEL 3, 4 x86_64.  For a full list of supported distributions planned for 5.0, see here:

http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/trac/oscar/wiki/DistroSupport

Mandriva 2006 will be fully supported for OSCAR 5.0, however for now, only x86.  We welcome the community to help us provide support for x86_64 if there are sufficient interest in it.

Mandriva 2006 support has been checked into trunk, so perhaps you can check the code out/try out nightly tarball and see if you can get x86_64 to work.  Basically you just need to rebuild a bunch of RPMs.  If you need help, please do not hesitate to contact us here.  We would be happy to check your code into our repository once it has been tested.

I'd also like to point you at our Development Wiki for up-to-date information regarding OSCAR internals:

Cheers,

Bernard

Subject: [Oscar-devel] Mandriva 2006 x86_64

Hello,

I have been playing around with the trunk of oscar 5.0 trying to get Mandriva 2006 x86_64 running over the last few months. (Off and On) has anyone been successful in this line of work? I understand 5.0 will not support x86_64 but it seems resonable that HPC moving in the x86_64 direction.

Thank you,
