Hi Michael, If we have another machine to host all the OSCAR systems (subversion, web, nightly tarballs, package repository, trac, and wiki) to run them a little independently from the Indiana Unversity Open Systems Lab(OSL) system, I think we can do anything as much as we want. For the issue of creating subversion, trac, and wiki account, the subversion account(i.e., SourceHaven account) is the main account to manage many other projects(Open MPI, MTT, PBGL,PLPA, Boost, ...) in the OSL and our subversion account is also in the same category. So creating an account is a little bit restricted because the accounts can be used to access all the other repositories if they are simply added to the projects. Anyways, I have been creating all the OSCAR subversion accounts by the account request. I am pretty open to this for any one who wants to participate in the OSCAR project and I have never rejected their requests. Whether we like this process or not, I think we need to keep this process for a while. :-(
BTW, Michael, I wonder if I am driving your intention to the wrong direction but I just wanted to let you know that this is what we have got. As long as the process to create an account is clear, I think a user can find a way and will be able to join our project. So, do you think that the process is too complicated or it is not clearly mentioned on our web site? Jeremy and Chris, I think you guys have mentioned before that you can donate another shining machine to the OSCAR project. ;-) When do you think this thing would be able to happen?
