Sure I can, I was intending to document my efforts anyway since I might need 
to reinstall this version at some point later. I'll try to post on the 
weekend and add my experience with rebuilding packages later next week when I 
get my hands on it.

One other annoying thing I noticed about GUI is that it uses semi-transparent 
(alpha channel?) font for labelling inactivated buttons and that does not 
work remotely. So I was rather surprised to see half-empty interface until I 
came downstares to a server room and tried it on a local display. I guess 
it's actually Fedora 7 thing, its interface is full of these 
semi-transparent... well, stuff ;-)

I tried it couple of times now and it seems to be a big improvement. Hope it 
will be released soon.
