The question was posed incorrectly. I want to know how the date needs to look like for Debian changelog entries. For RPMs one can use: % env LC_ALL=C date Fri Oct 12 18:44:19 CEST 2007 But I think it accepts also "Fri Oct 12 2007" The longuish format we have in the config.xml changelogEntry is overkill for RPMs, but if debs require it, why not? If not, I'd rather simplify it, such that it becomes easy to fill in manually.
