Hi, There was a simple solution. Stupidly I did not know that OSCAR (branch-5-1) was using Perl-Tk that Fedora 8 provides since we have not had one yet. The perl-Tk of Fedora 8 was problematic on OSCAR's gui and I double checked that the newly built perl-Tk for OSCAR is working fine.
