Did the nodes reboot successfully after imaging?
If so, check and see if the network interface on the node is active (log in
as root and type ifconfig). Ping the head node from the compute node and
ping the compute node from the head node. If that works, try ssh. If that
works, try manually mounting the home directory on the compute node (as
root) and see what errors show up.
