Hi, I know that even Mac advices to install a UDF partition in order to have case sensitivity, especially for UNIX tools development. I think a special version of HFS is also case sensitive. But be careful MacOS itself is buggy on case sensitive file systems, so the system has to be installed on a normal HFS or HFS+ partition.
After that, i do not care if you change the name of the directory or file name. Just that because you are doing UNIX development on a Mac with the basic configuration, you may face similar issues in the future.
