Geoffroy,

I did not want to speak in your place.

Please understand that English is not my natural language. By maintenance, I
meant code mantenance, thus project chair if you prefer. To my knowledge, all
the commits done to oscar during the last couple of years were done by you and
nobody else.

As for the docs, For sure I know that they have not been erased, but the result
is that without this domainname, the access is not possible for now and this
will last until a solution is found.

I also understand that all those stuffs were not under your responsibility and
I never say so.

** Please forgive me if my phrasing was missleading.**

My unique goal, being here, is to help the oscar project by contributing the
best I can to it.

So, for now, I'll continue to work on my svn version as the official one is
unreachable and I need to go forward in order to have my new GPU nodes online
soon.
I've pushed many commits that are relative to centos-6.3 port and available
features. I'm planing to realease rpms for testing. If tests are positive (at
least one positive feedback), I'll do a svndump of all my commits so one can
push this to the official svn (if approved and seen as relevant by futur oscar
leader).

Status of my oscar version so far: (on centos-6.3 x86_64 svn version: 9508)
- bootstrap is working without any problem
- All step from 1 to 7 are working without any problem (including image
creation and deployment using systemimager pre4.2.0)
- all post install including CPU count collecting and GPU count collecting is
working fine
- torque configuration is working fine including GPU support
- blcr included (berkley checkpoint-restart)
- tests are ok for all Default packages
- many fix fixes (typo and verbose debug mainly)
- Experimental package that seems to work fine: maui, ntpconfig, torque (server
post install and client config are now working fine)

Ongoing work:
- some easy to fix failures in step 8 of Experimental packages that I'm working
on that should be easy to fix.
- openmpi-oscar, a specific packaging that includes support for torque (not
included in epel package)
- sge => need a full rewrite to make use of gridengine package

Best regards.

About point 6, i meant:

You have to understand that it is not because i am not the project chair
anymore that i am _not_ participating to the maintenance. I do not see what
allows you to say such things; i find it quite inappropriate for you to make my
say things like this on a public mailing list. PLEASE NEVER SPEAK FOR ME!

In other terms, i will continue to contribute, focusing only of the things of
interest for me.

1. Yes i asked to review the patches but i really do not see how reviewing
patching prevented you to get SVN access. Those are two different things.

2. I am not the project chair so my opinion does not matter any more

3. There is a problem with the domain name, yes. I was never the owner of the
domain and do not know who is. I sent a couple of emails to try to find a
solution

4. As you should know, this is not because the domain name is gone that
documentation and so on is gone. As far as i know the server at IU is still
there with everything on it. There is nothing i can do to fix this, i am not at
IU, not the former owner of the domain name and have no access to the servers.
But i am sure the server will be back online with a proper domain name.

5. You are free to fork, this is an open source project. Again i am not
involved in project management anymore, i am ok with all decisions that will be
made.

Geoffroy,

I though you wanted to revew all my patches before inclusion as I was a newbee
in perl development when I started to develop for oscar.
For that reason I did not ask for any write access as it would have bypassed
this request from you.

Now that you've droped Oscar leadership, and as it seems that there is nobody
onboard for oscar maintenance, I started to work on my own svnrdump to make
sure that oscar does not die. Right now I'm at revision 9508, and I can provide
a
svnadmin dump /home/subversion/oscar -r 9484:9508 --incremental if required.

Today I've noticed that openclustergroup.org domain has expired (and bought by
register.com) and thus all stuff behind are not available anymore (that means
docs, svn and the like).

Everything looks like an imminent death of the oscar project which would be a
big loss.

For my part I'll do my best to keep oscar alive, and if needed, I'll fork it
(though I'd like to avoid this step).
Too bad, I don't have a copy of the web docs which were hosted by
opebclustergroup.org web site.

I'm working on the new openmpi-oscar package that supports tork as the epel
version supports everything you can imagine except torque :-(

I'm planing to relaease rpms for testing when completed.

Cheers,

1. You can ask SVN access, just ask here and someone will deal with it (I was
never able to handle any kind of SVN access thing). As far as i know you never
asked to have such access.

2. "Experimental" is not only based on the status on one platform. I am not
saying that it is not possible, just that "in theory" more than an individual
feedback is required.
