This is absolutely wrong: the patch was applied only when creating the Debian
package (by debian/rules) and there is no way it was applied for CentOS
systems. The previous version of the file (oscar_table.sql) was written a long
time ago, way before the effort for the Debian support was initiated.

The patch was actually designed for the opposite: since i do not have access to
any CentOS platform, i applied the patch for the configuration i knew was
facing the problem and only for that platform. This decreases the risk of
impacting the work others are doing (including you).

So this is clearly a wrong and inaccurate accusation you are making. Thanks!

Your mysql patch did break things en CentOS-6.3. Looking at you patch, I tryed
to move from a "patch for new systems" to "patch for old systems" so it'll be
easyer to drop support in the future. Then I tested on a completely obsolete
system :CentOS-4 wich is not maintained anymore by Redhat and I assumed that
all Debian systems supported by Oscar were more recent than CentOS4 which was
obviously a wrong assumption. My fault.

IMHO, nobody complaned because nobody is testing on centos as it is known to be
not up to date since I told long ago on the list that I was working on my local
svn.

I've received very positive feedback from people, I sa a big thanks to then,
this is their feedback thaat keep me on oscar project.

Regards.

Please let me know what Debian specific thing is breaking non-debian systems,
it is my responsibility to fix these issues and so far no one complained.

Thanks,

Hello,

I'm really sorry if I broke things, Indeed, I had to modify a few debian stuffs
that broke non-debian systems, and I did the modifications with care, doing my
best not to break things. Unfortunately, it seems I have failed. Note also,
that things that did have no impact in non-debian systems have not been tooched
(this includes many packages that have not been upgraded or enhanced (e.g. new
torque with blcr, new openmpi with blcr support and infiniband/rdma support,
...)

Please also take into account that recent changes/commits are the history of
severall months alone in the dark and it took me time to backport the best I
could my work to the current tree avoiding a fork.

For sure, next modifications will be more easy to do since I have acces to the
svn, thus it'll be easy to discuss each modifications.

Objet : [Oscar-devel] Modifications related to OSCAR on Debian

Hello,

As far as i know i am the only OSCAR developer working on the Debian support
and the only OSCAR user using many different version of Debian/Ubuntu and
OSCAR. Because of this, i will ask _all_ developers to sync with me before
doing _any_ modification related to the Debian support, especially when
touching files that are explicitly identified as being exclusively part of the
Debian support.

I understand some developers try to "help", but as far it created more issues
than anything else since the modification were made without testing them on
different Debian platforms.

That said, I am always open to welcome a new developer to work on the Debian
support but we must be organized to avoid negatively impacting others.

Thanks,
