Jeff and others,
Since my oscar version is 1.2.1rh7.2, I don't think it has the switching features between MPI implementations. If I download the a recent LAM CVS checkout, can you show me how to manually switch between CVS and the original LAM version that used to go along w/ oscar1.2.1rh72 ??? I knew it's better to upgrade to newest OSCAR versions, but since I have some hard deadlines, I delay the upgrading things untill a convenient time.

Yes, that is. Anyone knows the default buffer size of MPICH? I couldn't find it anywhere in MPICH implementation manual?
Thanks...

LAM defaults to setting the OS socket buffering size of 64k. I don't know
what MPICH's is.

See the INSTALL and RELEASE_NOTES files that comes with LAM (I forget
where it is installed offhand on an OSCAR cluster -- check under
/usr/share/docs, or "rpm -ql lam-oscar"). In LAM 6.5.x, this value is not
changeable at runtime -- it is only changeable when you configure/compile
LAM itself. In our CVS copy of LAM (see http://www.lam-mpi.org/), it is
changeable at runtime with an environ............ Yahoo! Web Hosting - Let the expert host your site
