kinesh, We had this on our new P4 2Ghz boxes. The problem relates to using an SMP kernel (defaul as of oscar-1.2) with UP boxes. The _simplest_ fix is to just add the UP kernel (eg. kernel-2.4.2-2.i386.rpm) to the sample.rpmlist and rebuild the nodes.
They'll get the UP kernel by default and once they rebuild/reboot they'll come up without a hitch. Let us know if this doesn't fix things. --tjn (see also: docs/install.pdf "C.3.4 Uni-processor P4 nodes fail to boot") _________________________________________________________________________ Thomas Naughton [EMAIL PROTECTED] Research Associate (865) 574-3932 On Tue, 5 Mar 2002, dinesh kumar wrote: > Hello, > > > Kernel boot issues on single processor P4 machines > -------------------------------------------------- > > Client node installation is unsuccessfull.I am getting the following error > during client Installation ,Though My kernel is uniprocessor. > . > > Getting VERSION: ff00ff > enabled ExtINT on CPU#0 > ESR value before enabling vector: 00000000 > ESR value after enabling vector: 00000000 > calibrating APIC timer ... > .....
