To be more specific, I was able to resolve the errors after quitting OSCAR,
executing start_over and adding the appropriate directories to my path,
namely /usr/sbin and /sbin. I noticed that mkautoinstallscript only existed
after the initial execution of OSCAR, but is required to successfully
create an OSCAR image.
Has anyone else noticed this anomaly?
I am currently working on a prototype cluster composed of virtual machines
as nodes before implementing the cluster with actual hardware. I am using
VMWare workstation v3.0.0 - build-1455. Specifications of the nodes are:
Head node:
Athlon 1.2MP, 512MB, 4GB disk (running under a dual 1.2MP w/ 1024MB;
Windows 2000SP2)
Client nodes:
Athlon 1800XP, 128MB 2GB disk (running under 1800XP w/ 512MB; Windows 2000SP2)
Aside from installation difficulties stemming mainly from support for the
virtual hardware (the OSCAR 1.2.1 bootdisk does not have support for the
virtual scsi card being used by vmware and required the setup of client
nodes using virtual ide disks), the virtual cluster seems runnning without
any problems. Has anyone else had success with building clusters with
virtual machine as nodes?
- Thanks
