Somehow I knew as I was asking the questions that
there was a high probability of brain surgery in my
future.

If I come up with anything useful I will post it. It
looks as if I am on the front end of
oscar-1.2.1-rh72-pitichok-nis-manualsshkeys-tuesday-uptoolate
