Just happy to announce that I have built my cluster with OSCAR 1.3 and RH
7.3. But I have to replace the GANGLIA package provided by the
oscar-1.3.tar.gz with that from CVS. Replace means, expand the tar.gz
file, erase the folder ...packages/ganglia and replace it with the ganglia
folder from CVS.
Installation went smoothly from first Step 1 to Step 6.
The hardware I have (7 compute nodes + 1 head node):
1. head node
a) 2 ASUS PC 101 NIC, Intel Pro/100B chips
b) MSI KT3-ULTRA ARU board, Athlon XP 2000+, 256MB DDR
c) 40 GB, IDE hard disk
2. compute nodes
a) each node has a NIC with PXE compliant bootrom
i) 4 NICs are 3COM 905C
ii) 2 NICs are 3COM 905b
iii) a NIC, unknown brand, with Intel Pro/100+
b) i) 2 nodes with MSI KT3-ULTRA board, Athlon XP 2000+, 256MB DDR
ii) 2 nodes with MSI KT3-ULTRA board, Athlon XP 1900+, 256MB DDR
iii) 3 nodes with Asus A7V board, Athlon 800, 128MB SDRAM
