Verify your gateway setting on the problem nodes... compare with good nodes.

Richard,
I've been looking through other node's /etc/hosts and am finding others
that are the same as the failed node but work. This is what the file looks
like that works... and doesn't:
# These entries are managed by SIS.
192.168.0.1 master.cluster master nfs_oscar pbs_oscar
206.63.240.26 master.cluster master nfs_oscar pbs_oscar
127.0.0.1 master.cluster master localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.0.2 compute1.cluster compute1
192.168.0.3 compute2.cluster compute2
192.168.0.4 compute3.cluster compute3
192.168.0.5 compute4.cluster compute4
192.168.0.6 compute5.cluster compute5
192.168.0.7 compute6.cluster compute6
Again the 206.63.240.26 was a DHCP address at one time out to our
network....

Subject: RE: [Oscar-users] Ping Problem
David,
Yes, I suspected the /etc/hosts file was misguiding
the pings. I actually don't know where the /etc/hosts
on the nodes gets created in oscar -- could you repost
this to the users mailing list? I suspect the nodes'
/etc/hosts gets created by a combination of what's on
the master and what the node specifically needs, but
someone on the list that worked with the code will
respond... best, Rich
