Hi,
I'm tryin to install Oscar (grabbed from CVS, latest) with RH 7.3 on our
cluster.
The server is configured with two ethernet ports, eth0 is the one on the
outside network, with hostname pcwalhalla.mi.infn.it, and eth1 is the one
on the private cluster network, with name master.cluster.
Everything goes smooth with install_cluster, the nodes image is built ok,
the node is installed and configured ok, but when I go to step 5 (Complete
Cluster Setup) I get this nice error from PBS :
------------------------------------------------------
...
Updating pbs_server nodes
/opt/pbs/bin/pbsnodes: Server has no node list
qmgr obj=node1.cluster svr=default: Unauthorized Request
create node node1.cluster np = 1 , properties = all
Creating pbs workq queue...
qmgr obj=workq svr=default: Unauthorized Request
Max open servers: 4
create queue workq
Configuration of PBS queues failed at
/root/oscar/packages/pbs/scripts/post_install line 261
Script /root/oscar/packages/pbs/scripts/post_install exitted badly with
exit code '2' at ./post_install line 40
Couldn't run 'post_install' script for pbs at ./post_install line 41
...
------------------------------------------------------
and then the step fails.
From all I can see it is a problem with qmgr which, when called from
shell with:
qmgr -a -e -c "create node node1 np=1,properties=all"
gives an "Unauthorized Request" error.
/var/spool/pbs/server_name contains pbs_oscar as the server.
hostname gives pcwalhalla.mi.infn.it
And I think this is the problem...
From the CPlant's PBS install guide :
----
If the primary
name on the interface is not the name in the PBSserver file, you will get
get an "Unauthorized Request" error when you attempt to configure
the server with qmgr.
----
I guess qmgr tests against pbs_oscar, but it finds pcwalhalla (from
gethostbyname(), prolly) and so it bails out.
Now, does anyone has any idea on how to solve this problem ?
Note: manually writing the /var/spool/pbs/server_priv/nodes file doesn't
help... pbsnodes -a lists the node as state-unknown,down and so the test
script fails saying that there isn't any node with /home mounted.
Thx a lot to all the ones who'll answer me :D
