I am testing out Oscar 1.4.7b on a heterogeneous test cluster and have had
good luck up until
now. I am testing a dual P4 Xeon Tyan thunder i860 motherboard with an ide
drive.

Be aware I am installing this machine as a client. (I have successfully
installed Redhat 7.2 and Redhat 7.3) on this
machine before. And I am trying multiple machines with the same hardware
configuration with the same results.
I have tried both the floppy install and the network install...
The floppy install gives me this message..
PCI: PCI BIOS revision 2.10 entry at 0xfd91b
PCI: Using configuration type 1
PCI: Probing PCI hardware
(HANG Forever)
Network Install boot message...
TFTP prefix:
TRYING TO LOAD: pxlinux.cfg/C0A805
TRYING TO LOAD: pxlinux.cfg/C0A80
....
TRYING TO LOAD: pxlinux.cfg/default
Bomb Out
I have two questions.. I imagine the disk install problem is with the
kernel on the boot disk..
1.) How can I rebuild this kernel to work with this hardware
I don't understand the network problem. I am using a standard Intel
Integrated LAN controller
2.) Is there a way to add a client machine to Oscar with an existing Redhat
install and have Oscar
add the necessary packages and fixes???
Thank you,
