We had a lot of the same problems with Oscar1.3 and Mandrake 8.2. Our
workaround was to delay the installation of ganglia until after Step1 of the
Oscar install, and to move the perl-XML-Parser-2.30-5mdk. rpm out of the rpm
folder. That way ganglia can use perl-XML-Parser-2.30-31.
Maybe it will work for you.

Hi. We are trying to build an OSCAR server on a Pentium IV, with
RedHat7.3. We encountered a problem with GANGLIA, (Perl can not find

OSCAR fails at step 2, can't build client image.
OSCAR died at /usr/bin/mksiimage line 160. Package install failed. We also
get a lot of PERL warning messages (use of uninitialised value)
We also get :
couldn't find file for package file system at
/usr/lib/systeminstaller/SystemInstaller/Package.pm line 180
and similar messages...
help.
