Dear All,
I Am also facing the same problem discribed by Shane,
However I am using Oscar1.2rh7.2 and Red Hat 7.2.
The cluster installation has been completed successfully.
While doing ./test_install , First step (PBS testing ) is completeing
successfully regardless of the no of nodes selected.
but the second test (MPICH test ) takes incredibly long time
to finish when i select more than one machine initially. However the test
completes successfully at the end.
( I have a 4 node cluster plus a master node)
Can any body point out where exactly i have to look in?
Many Many thanks in Advance,
Vinod.

Subject: [Oscar-users] MPICH Test failure
I have been trying to resolve why the MPICH test is failing with an
8 node cluster here is what I found.
I began experimenting and found that 1 client node will pass all tests.
So a I tried 2 client nodes and all tests passed. I kept going 3,4,5,6,7 and
when I hit 8 client nodes the MPICH test failed.
I also noticed that the count changes for some test depending on the
number of client nodes being used. For instance when using 1 client node the MPICH
test completed quickly, however when using 7 client nodes the count has gone all the
way to zero. Could this be the problem that the
count isn't high enough for the MPICH test or doesn't this matter??
I also tried deleting the 8th client node and ran the tests again with 7
client nodes and the MPICH test failed and so did PVM. So I tried 6 client
nodes and MPICH passed but PVM failed. So I tried 7 client nodes again and
MPICH passed but PVM failed. Now if I try any number of client nodes from 1 to 7 PVM
fails and all other tests pass including MPICH.
My next step is to start OSCAR over and only use 7 client nodes and see if all
tests pass. However, my end goal will be 72 client nodes so if 7 works it
still doesn't help me in the end.
Any suggestions????
Thanks,
Shane
