I would suggest you modify /etc/systemconfig/systemconfig.conf in your image
after adding the kernel.  That is where it is telling systemconfigurator to
regenerate lilo.conf.  The problem is that SystemImager doesn't yet have an
interface for generating these files, so it is done _arround_ SystemImager
via the systemconfig.conf file.

If you specify the kernels in that file, you'll get automatic initrd
generation for them as well.
