There is a RedHat 8.0 client rpmlist in CVS right now (in the oscarsamples
directory IIRC). You can try using that to see if your client image will
build. One thing you might want to do is update the rpm rpms (i.e. rpm-*)
to the latest available, since the newer RH 8.0 packages were probably built
with a newer version of rpm than the one included in RH 7.3.

Subject: [Oscar-users] 7.3 on master node/ 8.0 image

I'm still getting Kernel panic on my Nodes and would like to try something
else. I have tried the following. Maybe i'm doing something wrong.
Since The new versions of oscar will not run on RH 8.0 I have to run RedHat
7.3 on my master node. While installing Oscar on RedHat 7.3 I tried copying
the RedHat 8.0 RPMS files into tftpboot/rpm but installation failed. I
proceed to copy the RedHat 7.3 RPMS into the tftpboot/rpm folder and now I
can proceed with the installation. I tried to create a image with RedHat 8.0
using the following method. I copied RedHat 8.0 RPMS files into
tftpboot/rpm8 folder. During step 4 (build OSCAR client image), I selected
the OSCAR redhat 8.0 package file list from oscar samples and changed
Packages Directory to /tftpboot/rpm8. It fails to create image with a perl
error. Am I missing something. If I could build a RedHat 8.0 image, I think
I will get around the kernel panic from 7.3.
