I am an undergrad comp engg student planning to use OSCAR 2.2 to build a cluster of 10 nodes.
My basic problem concerns the unavailability of pxe enabled n/w card & floppy drive though i do have CD-ROM drives.
I am working on the assumption that the basic functionality of n/w boot lies only in bringing up the node as a cluster node and is not reqd until the cluster needs to be scaled.
My questions are :
1. Is it possible to perform CD-based installs?
If yes, how?
2. Is it possible to perform the image installation manually (using
rsync or otherwise) bypassing floppy boot/PXE enabled network boot
altogether?
If yes, what are the steps that are required to be carried out?
Awaiting prompt help... Thx, Ashish Navaney
