Dennis, others,
Older Red Hat kernels have both bcm5700 and tg3 modules, however, in
more recent releases (and in the linux kernel base) the bcm5700 has been
phased out in favour of the tg3 for all the Broadcom Gigabit drivers.
This means that at some point you will need to swap to the tg3 (it is a
better, more supported driver).

Also, the PXE load process downloads a kernel and and initrd image,
modules would be in this initrd disk and loaded from there. In
addition, once this basic kernel is running, it downloads another
tarball with even more modules, etc.

However, even with all this, I had trouble with the default kernels and
initrd in the OSCAR package and had to replace both with a custom made
(i.e. more recent Red Hat) kernel and modules. While doing that, I
decided it was easier to compile in the NIC and SCSI drivers rather than
running them as modules.

Like you, I was playing with Dell PE1750's. If you want further
details, email me.
