Sundaram,
I don't think it would be easy to convert from a normal Red Hat
installation to a OSCAR node, as there are a number of extra RPMs
installed, and a few other, non-standard setups.
The only thing I can suggest is to create a custom kernel, for the
initial boot with everything you require compiled in (i.e. not as a
module) and then either network boot that or use use a CD boot with it.
Aside from network booting and floppy booting, there is now that ability
within SIS to create a CD to boot from. I have not used it, but noticed
the program mkautoinstallcd. You will probably need to look this up, as
most kernels you make will probably be too big for a floppy.
However, as Jeremy mentioned, we need to know what is coming out on the
node's console during booting to try and diagnose the problem.
