We used to get this practically for every node in our cluster until we turned 
on "Edge port" or "Fast link" in the Spanning Tree configuration on our Dell 
PowerConnect 5224 GE switches. Other symptoms include DHCP and PXE sometimes 
working and sometimes not.

It looks like the network card decides it has link before the switch is 
willing to pass traffic to it.
