The Torque batch system, formerly Scalable PBS (SPBS), is now available for OSCAR 3.0 installations via OPD (OSCAR Package Downloader).

OSCAR's version of OpenPBS included many of the same patches that went into Torque, but many enhancements have been added beyond that. For more information, see:
http://supercluster.org/torque/

* New configurator options
OSCAR's configurator now offers options to select the server's log level, and an option to run a MOM process on the server node.

* New Maui and CluMon packages required
http://supercluster.org/maui/
http://clumon.ncsa.uiuc.edu/
For OSCAR clusters using CluMon and/or Maui, the latest version of these packages is required to use Torque. The Maui OSCAR package now uses version 3.2.5p7 instead of 3.2.5p2. The CluMon version is unchanged, but has a packaging update. New installations of OSCAR 3.0 can simply use OPD and download these packages, then install as normal.

* Upgrade Path
Existing OSCAR 3.0 clusters will need to remove/re-add these packages in order to upgrade them. There are minor bugs in the OpenPBS and CluMon uninstall process. Please send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] before you attempt to upgrade.

Please do not reply-all to this announcement, as it is cross-posted to both the Torque and OSCAR users lists.
