So all the major linux distros have bootable-Linux-CDs that you can use to
demo/test Linux without touching the hard drive. Now it's HPC's turn.

The FlashMob crew has been hard at work preparing for the upcoming
"FlashMob I" event on April 3rd, and have just released the first version
of the FM ISO -- I call it "HPL on a CD":

        (approx 63MB)

It's pretty turn-key and just about anyone with computers and a net can
run HPL! It's still alpha, though, and they could really use some help
testing. Bored with your day job? Stuck in a synergistic,
multi-disciplinary paradigm policy meeting with no end in sight? Want to
find out exactly how many flops your laptop can expect to coax out of
powerpoint? Download the FlashMob ISO and give it a whirl! Instructions
are on the page.

Gonna be in San Fran on April 3rd? It's right before ClusterWorld -- you
should attend! http://www.flashmobcomputing.com/
