Bernard, It will depend on the version of OSCAR you are running as to where the IP information is stored in the database. For OSCAR-3.0 I know that most of the IP information is stored in the SIS database (e.g., 'mksimachine -L'). You'll have to edit the Gateway, Adapter definitions, etc. using that tool.
Then the remaining changes should be standard network configs within the filesystem (e.g., RH - /etc/sysconfig/...). And the /etc/hosts file. Note, if the interface changed (not really an IP modification) that's stored in the 'oscar' table in ODA. If you're using something older than OSCAR-3.0, then it will be something similar to the above but I'm not sure b/c I don't have any of those systems laying around currently. I believe that's all. If others see omissions/errors please correct me. --tjn _________________________________________________________________________ Thomas Naughton [EMAIL PROTECTED] Research Associate (865) 576-4184 On Mon, 5 Apr 2004, Bernard Li wrote: > Hey guys: > > We have been allocated a different ip address range and thus need to > re-number all our cluster infrastructure (fun!) - just wondering if > anybody in the list has done something similar and whether you have any > tips. > > I would assume that changing the ip references on the file system is not > enough as some ip information is stored in the database?
