Do either of the following conditions exist?

A)  Server hostname is "localhost" (default from install).

B)  Manual modifications to /etc/hosts have been done.

If I do:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] scripts]# pbsnodes
Unknown Host.
pbsnodes: cannot connect to server pbs_oscar, error=15008

[EMAIL PROTECTED] scripts]# pbsnodes -s 192.168.26.1
pbsnodes: Server has no node list

and from here I'm not sure how to troubleshoot.
