192.168.0.0 is not a useable ip adress. .0 and .255 are reserved for special purposes and should not be assigned to any machines. 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254 should work fine if you don't want to use 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.254.

Just to clarify, you can't use the first/last address of _any_ subnet. These are refered to as the network/broadcast addresses and are reserved. There are other reserved IPs defined in the RFCs as well (0.0.0.0/127.0.0.0).
