I no longer work on the OSCAR project... I can't remember if the GM package had uninstall scripts or not. I think it did, but you should verify that those scripts exist in the GM package directory. (/var/lib/oscar/packages/gm/scripts)?
If they do exist, and you're getting that error, it could be a number of things. The current install/uninstall process is very sensitive to anything wrong. If it fails once due to a dependency problem on removal or something like that, things get out of sync and won't remove successfully w/o manual intervention. Many times, the rpms get removed on the first pass, something else returns an error, and the database state is left as "installed". On subsequent uninstall attempts, even if the original problem is resolved, it will get an error because it will try to remove an rpm that isn't installed... and fail again. :(
My solution to this case was to manually install the package's rpms on the server, nodes, and image (don't forget the image)... and then attempt an uninstallation again. It's an easy hang up to get into... hope that helps.
A hint on avoiding this situation: Never attempt to uninstall more than one package at once, as they're removed (attempted, anyway) in a random order, and they may have a dependency relationship. Also, before removing a package, look for others that may depend on it and remove them first. e.g. Remove CluMon before PBS, etc.

Jeremy,
The Oscar uninstall/install program worked great with Ganglia but I am having trouble with the Myrinet Drivers (gm). I tried uninstalling it and re-installing. My error is Nothing to do. Please let me know what script is initiated by the install program.
Also if you know of any threads or links pertaining to the install/uninstall function other than the manuals please let me know.
Thank You,
Brian Barlow
