Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem.
Inside the post_install script in the oscar/packages/opium/scripts directory,
the only command in the file is "/opt/opium/bin/sync_users --force"
This is the same thing I've typed from the command line multiple times
with no luck!
I did gain some additional insight into my problem...
I CAN run MPI on all nodes. The problem is that I can only run it on either the first 8 nodes OR the new 6 nodes that I just added. If I have even one node from either group intermingled in my machinefile then I get the error:
rm_1312: p4_error: Could not gethostbyname for host oscarnode10; may be invalid name
: 67
Very odd that they should all work, but not all work together!

I am not sure if this is an answer for you but would like you to try this. Please, run "post_install" in oscar/packages/opium/scripts/
It will synchronize all your nodes.
