Hi Yu Chen,

Are you sure if the mysql-sever is in the CDs?
I have checked several times but it is not there. So I rebuilt rpm from the src rpm, which I could get from
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/3/en/os/i386/SRPMS/

Anyway, I just want to make it clear and even if you have the CD with mysql-server, at least we can make a new one like I did, right?

Regards,

DongInn.

But for the documentation of "README.RH3AS.txt", I think most
of them don't apply to RH-EL-AS-3 update3, I skipped all
steps except step 7 (this probably also can be skipped as
indicated in my previous email) without any problem, and I
tried both "ext2" and "ext3" withough problems.

I guess you were trying to say 'don't apply to RH-EL-AS-3 update3 for
i386'? Because most of the steps are necessary if you are installing on
Itanium systems. BTW, did you really skip step 1)? Where did you get
the mysql-server RPM?

Oh, yeah, forgot i386. Yeah, I skipped step 1), since after I have done coping rpms to /tftpboot/rpm from CDs, it's in there already.

Cheers,

Bernard
