Title: [Oscar-users] xpbs/xpbsmon vs. tcl/tk version
Hi Linwei:

Here's a solution to get around this problem:

1. Make sure you have both tcl-8.4.5-7 and tk-8.4.5-8 installed
2. ln -s /usr/bin/wish8.4 /usr/bin/wish8.3
3. ln -s /usr/lib/libtk8.4.so /usr/lib/libtk8.3.so
4. ln -s /usr/lib/libtcl8.4.so /usr/lib/libtcl8.3.so

This should get you going.

I would imagine we need to build the torque-gui RPM on different distributions (because of varying tcl and tk versions provided by different distro's) and provide it in the OSCAR tarball.  We'll make note of this and make sure it is fixed in the future.

Thanks for letting us know.

Cheers,

Bernard

Subject: [Oscar-users] xpbs/xpbsmon vs. tcl/tk version

hello,

I got the problem to launch xpbs/xpbsmon, after set up the cluster using
OSCAR4.0 on FC2. It reports that the "xpbs" and "xpbsmon" looking for tcl/tk
version 8.3, but by default the FC2 tcl/tk version is 8.4. I can modify
"xpbs" script to make it use "/usr/bin/wish8.4". However, the "xpbsmon"
executable binary requires "libtk8.3.so" and "libtcl8.3.so". Is there some
method work around to solve this problem? Thanks a lot.

Linwei
