Head node OS: Fedora Core 3 OSCAR version: 4.2
So I have my head node and one compute node setup and everything seems to work more or less (the install went ok anyway). I'm now learning/figuring out the batch scheduling system and have come across an issue with which I need some assistance.
Please forgive me in advance if this has previously been covered on the list. sf.net is so painfully slow that reviewing the list archives is near impossible.
I believe the default configuration sets everything up for PBS/Torque to use the Maui scheduler (correct me if I'm wrong). The problem I am having is that Maui does not seem to stay up on my system. I was submitting jobs to my default queue but they would just sit there until I did a 'qrun' on them. Eventual sleuthing led me to find that Maui was not running, nor was pbs_sched. On trying to start Maui it seems to start fine, but then dies within seconds and gives no indication as to why either on the console, or in /opt/maui/log/ maui.log.
So for kicks, I submitted a few jobs into the queue and then fired up pbs_sched.... jobs started running right away.
I would like to utilize the (so I've been led to believe) more advanced capabilities of the Maui scheduler, so any assistance I can get in getting it to operate on my system would be much appreciated. Thanks!
