Title: [Oscar-users] help NFS stale file
Have you looked at /var/log/messages for any error messages?

You could also look at the NFS mount options and modify fstab accordingly (search google for help on this).  Another solution is to eliminate NFS altogether, i.e. copy the necessary files to local disk on the nodes prior to executing namd.

Cheers,

Subject: [Oscar-users] help NFS stale file

hello all...
sorry for reiterating the problem... but some body help please...

we are having a oscar cluster of 4 nodes built on fc3 using oscar 4.2.1..

the installation was perfect and i ran some sample applications also on them...
mpi-povray and tachyon are all working smoothly on the cluster..

i have recently tried a namd simulation( a biomolecular simulation)...
the application breaks at one point complaining NFS stale file handle..

this always happens at one point of simulation trajectory(step 2000 to
be precise)... i have gone through net and found a solutuion of
including ":no_subtree_check" in /etc/exports:
so my /etc/exports file was modified to include this parameter ...
i have restarted the nfs server and all the nodes and ran the
applicaiton once again..

still the namd program complains of the stale file handle error...

any way around this problem...
thanks in advance
santhu
