Hi Sylvia,
you found a limitation which I almost forgot about. In order to apply the
bootstrap_suse procedure yume needs to recognize that the repository is from
SuSE. But OS_Detect is currently too dumb to detect the OS of a remote (URL)
repository. So OpenSUSE 10.0 work correctly only if you have a local
repository. Here's a hack:
Create the directory /tftpboot/distro/suse-10.0-i386
Download into it the suse-release RPM from the online repository.
Run
# yume --repo /tftpboot/distro/suse-10.0-i386 --prepare
Extend the file /tftpboot/distro/suse-10.0-i386.url to contain 2 lines:
file:/tftpboot/distro/suse-10.0-i386
http://linux.mathematik.tu-darmstadt.de/pub/linux/distributions/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/suse
Now the recognition should work.
The cleaner and safer method is to download the RPMs to the
/tftpboot/distro/suse-10.0-i386/ directory.
Sorry that I didn't remember this limitation... And thanks for reminding
me. We should solve this issue for OSCAR 5.1...
Schöne Grüße
Erich
