It is actually a feature, though a poorly documented one (my bad) called net boot manager (or something like that), which lets you keep your nodes set to network boot all the time. It is handy, but when you are fiddling with things a lot the current workflow is a bit awkward.
When you image a node using network boot, netbootmgr sets the default PXE boot action to "localboot" so that when you use the default SIS post-imaging action of "reboot" the client node automatically boots to the local disk the next time. Very handy. To make a "successfully imaged" node get an image again, go to /opt/oscar/scripts and run "./oscar_wizard manage". Then click on the "Network Boot Manager". Select a node from the list, make sure the dropdown box in the upper right (labeled "Next boot action") is set to "Install", and click on the "Set" button. The "Next boot action" column on the list should switch from "LocalBoot" to "Install". Then PXE boot the nodes you need to re-image again and they should pull down the new image. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
