As an example, if you wanted to use the repository for CentOS 4.4 for an
x86_64 system, you could do

http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4.4/updates/x86_64/

The $distro part is a shell scripting variable notation, so they were
intended to be replaced with appropriate values for you system.

Hi,

Im new to Oscar. I am going through the installation guide and am in
section 3.5 Advanced Repository Creation

I would like to create a following file in /tftpboot/distro/ folder:
centos-4-i386.url. This file should contain url's for base RPM's and
updates. However, when I look at the example given in the install guide for
fedora:

# distro mirror site (this is not necessarilly the fastest...)
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/4/i386/os/

# updates mirror site
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/4/i386/

this is not similar to what I have in centos:

baseurl:
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/

updatesurl:
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/updates/$basearch/

what is up with the $releasevr and /$basearch/??

should I leave those as they are or should I remove the $ or do something
else?

Thanks

Ben
