Yes you can. Just make sure to add the headnode to any node lists that you have
for MPI programs or the like. However, if you are performance testing, it is
advised not to use the head node for computation, but if performance is not
important, then you can go right ahead.

Subject: [Oscar-users] Can the master node be used as compute node?
Hi.
I have used OSCAR 5.0 to cluster two computers using Mandriva Linux 2006. So
far, everything is working fine. However, I was wondering if it is possible to
turn the "master node" into a "compute node". Even though, I am planning to add
more nodes to the cluster. I would like to test the benefits of using two
computing nodes, right now.
