guide it is said the downloading additional software
was an optional part

It is not necessary to have the head node connected to the internet. You
can make your repository by hand by copying the rpms off the distro CDs as
described in the install docs.
http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/wiki/oscar:5.0:install_guide:ch3.5_advanced_repo

Just ignore the parts about remote repositories, it is not required.

2. is it possible to install only the head node and
install the client nodes at some other day.

You can restart the wizard and resume where you left off.

3. i want to make a workstation with windows installed
in it become a client node. is it possible (it has
four partitions and i want to install client node in
the d drive which is 8gb)

OSCAR will install on any machine, but it will destroy the existing
partitions unless you are very careful. A user from Spain did this
successfully (details are available here
http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/wiki/oscar:5.0:user_submissions:windows_linux)
but I would strongly suggest using a test box with a similar hardware
configuration to test first. This will require far more hacking around than
a "standard" OSCAR install.
