If you need to patch your systems, it is much easier to do that with 5.0than
4.2.
Much of the differences in 4.x and 5.x are not going to be especially
apparent to users who are simply replicating an existing setup which already
worked in prior versions. The upgrades to 5.x involve huge leaps in the
flexibility of possible setups and added packages. It is, of course, very
nice if you want to use the packages we have added (OpenMPI, SGE, new
distros), but if you have a working cluster and are happy with the version
MPI you are using now, why fix what isn't broken?
There have been lots bug fixes too, but if you are happy you probably
haven't run into any of the bugs yet :)
