Please send your oscarinstall.log files (all of them, in a .zip or .tgz file) along with your /etc/hosts file. Whatever information you can give on your network setup and hardware might be helpful as well.
I have not been able to replicate this problem so I am not sure what the root issue is. As far as MPICH2, there is not currently an OSCAR package for it, as far as I know, so you would simply install it as instructed by the MPICH2 documentation.
