Checked it that wasn't the problem It only happened to our Abaqus users. I rebooted the cluster checked the mounts and they were all there working properly. I backed up the affected users data and removed them from the system after reinstalling the user and giving time for /etc/passwd propogation they started working again. We suspect software vendor made a change to the users .ssh dir but I realy don't know for sure.

If you can do so easily, I would suggest rebooting the cluster by rebooting the head node completely and then rebooting the compute nodes after the head node is completely up.
