Hi Jim,

I am not sure what you have done on your /etc/hosts when the nic was removed 
and then added back but all OSCAR cares about in terms of torque/pbs behavior 
is see if /etc/hosts can find the PBS server or not.

So, if "pbs_oscar" was assigned to the IP of the your proper PBS server on 
/etc/hosts, most of your torque problem would be gone.
