Actually, I've looked at turning them off in the BIOS on the Sun Blades 
and haven't found the option.  I actually have a ticket open with Sun on 
that issue.

The reason for the virtual drives is to allow for installation of software 
onto the servers by connecting the CD-Rom or an ISO image on your 
workstation.  These "virtual" drives are mapped back to the devices on the 
workstation you connect from.  It works great when you need it, but I just 
haven't found a way to turn it off.
