Sure, you can. The ssh-key settings are just an optional configuration that OSCAR makes for users' convenience even though the root password-less access cross all the nodes is inevitable during the oscar installation.
Please do whatever you need but I would rather backup the /root/.ssh/ directory somewhere just in case.
