Antonio, OSCAR is an abstraction for the management of a cluster. If you want to install and configuration your cluster manually you can do it because in that specific case you are not looking for any kind of abstraction. If you do not care about the technical details and just want to have some work done as quickly as possible, then an abstraction like OSCAR just make sense. :-)
