Hi!
Here is how my /etc/hosts file looks at present:
******************************************************************
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.1.254 snode0.gnlserv01 snode0 oscar_server nfs_oscar pbs_oscar
137.215.104.218 gnlserv01.up.ac.za gnlserv01
# These entries are managed by SIS, please don't modify them.
192.168.1.1 normnode01.gnlserv01 normnode01
*****************************************************************
I read somewhere that it is better to assign the name of the local network
as hostname for the server due to software (MPI) related reasons. But for
all that I know, that might not have been a very good source, or it might be
outdated by now.
Should I perhaps change the domain of normnode01 to gnlserv01.up.ac.za ?
