James, oscar-config manage to detect the repository type of the http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/5.3/os/i386/ repository and after a while stops to do so.
Does the problem appear always when installing opkg-c3-server package? Maybe the server just detects too many connections from your IP and just block connections. I do not have other explanations right now, and the only one that could explain why not every users have the problem. Anyway this is clear a limitation of the current implementation and actually a ticket is open regarding the repository's format detection mechanism: http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/trac/oscar/ticket/532 I will try to fix that problem as soon as possible.
